Wii exercise?

Does the new Nintendo Wii help you exercise while playing video games? To a certain extent, it does. Take for example Wii Tennis. In this game, you basically swing the Wii remote around, trying to imitate real life tennis racket movements. You can move the remote as if you were performing a forehand, a backhand, an overhand, or a serve. If you really get into it, by significantly moving your arms around, you might be able to receive some exercise from Wii Tennis. To do this, you could pretend that you are actually playing real tennis and swing your arms around accordingly. This kind of gameplay is indicative of exercise, because you will be physically moving as if you were really playing tennis. Thus, you will receive at least some exercise. Unfortunately, the Nintendo Wii remote is also a little too sensitive in the sense that you can play Wii Tennis without dramatically moving your arms around. For instance, if you want, you could simply snap your wrist, while keeping your arm motionless, and still be able to play Wii Tennis. The remote will still pick up your small movements. However, this gameplay will definitely not exercise your body, and in the end you'll just be playing any other non-exercising video game. So there are really two directions in which you could go: 1) Play Wii while exercising; 2) Play Wii without exercising. Since the latter does not involve any exercise, we'll forget about it for the rest of this article. So the question really becomes, "If you do exercise while playing the Nintendo Wii, how much exercise do you really get?" Not much. The sole fact remains that the most you can do to exercise is to move around a couple of feet, maybe hop up and down, and swing your arms. Of course, this is much better than any other video game console can boast; but, in relation to physical exercise, the amount of exercise that Wii can give you is next to nothing. Seriously, think about it. All you do is swing your arms around, which definitely does not make your heart beat go anywhere near your target heart rate; so that means you get no aerobic exercise, which means it doesn't improve your cardiovascular system. In addition, there is almost no resistance to your movements--you only swing your arms through the air. So there's not really any strength building going on. Therefore, the Nintendo Wii does not provide much exercise; in fact, it provides almost nothing. This long article arose just because its topic is easy to write about, and not because I'm making a dramatic discovery or trying to prove something amazing. In fact, I think most people already think that the Wii does not provide much exercise. So in conclusion, here's a long article about an idea that people probably already know about: Although it provides some exercise, the Wii provides practically no exercise relative to real physical exercise.

I found a way to make it so that your comments have DATE and TIME. Just go to settings on your blog and go to Comments.

Then change the Comments Timestamp Format. Whalah! You have the date and the time which causes less the* confusion than before.

End of the Year Review

So, what happened in 2005?????
I don't know.

I started my second year of college at College of the Canyons.
In March, there was a historic migration of painted lady butterflies through Los Angeles, of which I caught a few.
In March, I had that crash with a Metro Bus
In March, some of us went to Death Valley to see the historic blossoming of flowers.
In May, some of us (not me) went to Yosemite.
In May, some time after the Yosemite vacation, all of us went to Mammoth!
In June, I got my own cell phone!!!!
In July, I went to the Summer College Training and got sick.
In July, I received my first Jury Summons for a trial with a DUI and 3 counts of murder.
In July: SSOT
In August, I went to Zuma beach.
In August, some of us went to tour USC
This year was the 5 year anniversary of 9/11
In September, some of us went to the King Tut museum.
In September, there was a fire near Chatsworth.
In November, some of us took shifts at Best Buy on Black Friday to buy electronics.
In December, we all went on vacation to Pismo beach (butterflies), Morro Rock, Monterey Ray Aquarium, San Francisco, Wine Country, and Yosemite (ice skating!!!).

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

I think that the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was pretty bad because it lacked a lot of plot and story line.

There were just a bunch of random scenes smashed into one story to become a story rather than getting a good idea and then making scenes.

And I wish that the little robot would finally be happy at the end.

The Interpretation of Internet Writings

This has happened to me soo many times. Almost every time i chat on the internet it comes up once in a while.

You say something on the internet, (via typing of course), and you might intend it to mean one thing, but it comes out another way.

Also, a statement can be interpreted as a negative statement, when you really mean it in a positive way, like this thing down here. vvv

Example:
Guy 1: "Hey, that guy is really annoying."
Guy 2: "I KNOW."

Guy 1 can interpret this as something like, "I KNOW THAT ALREADY, WHY ARE U TELLING ME AGAIN?!!!" (Negative way) This might make guy 1 sad and leave the server.

Or he can interpret it as, "I know!!! (I try to imagine this in homestar's voice) Totally, I agree with you man!" (Positive way) If guy 1 interprets it in this way, he will have a jolly ol' time and be happy that someone agrees with him.

Usually, when I say "I KNOW!!" as when Guy 2 did, I it mean the positive way...

This happens every year. As an NBA fan, and one who lives in Los Angeles, I can't escape the thought and hope of the Clippers making the playoffs this season. Of course, and history has passed, the last several years for the Clippers have been promising at first, but dismal in the end. They haven't made the playoffs since the early 90's. But there is hope this year! The Clippers have acquired two veteran players, Sam Cassell and Cuttino Mobley. These two should make a tremendous impact on the team. In the preseason, the Clippers went 6-2, so they have good chances to succeed. Their chances to make the playoffs appear as good as they have ever been. But we'll have to see, for I always say this at the beginning of the season, The Clippers are going to make the playoffs this season. And how many times has that come true?
